In fairness, I've never made a poll here.

The PS4 controller has a non-propriety 3.5mm headphone jack.
I'm not tethering my controller to the television.

Okay, NOW I've created a poll(possibly even a Kawa-approved subject), and there sure are custom color fields. Presentation even makes it appear that specifying a color is required.

Colour is an important signifier, and obviously every later PC graphics card built on top of the CGA legacy, but I've got to give it to Hercules for higher-than-VGA-resolution graphics back in the days before VGA was even a thing.

But do you give it on a green monitor or an amber one?

My god, the absolute madmen.
I was just pointing out that the PS4 has both HDMI output and 3.5mm outputs, making it a bad answer to the question "What kind of device do you have that has HDMI out but no 3.5mm?".

Technically, the PS4 itself doesn't have any form of analog output. The controller is a different device.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

And if there's multiple people wanting to listen to something you can awkwardly use a passive 3.5mm splitter and multiple headphones.

Or a pair of speakers?

I still kinda hope we'll get games utilizing 3D screens for displaying one players perspective on the polarized display panel and the other players perspective on the non-polarized display panel, so both players get the full display instead of a portion of it.
VR goggles, man. We need systems that can drive multiple VR goggles.

But quite frankly, this all ignores the larger issue: HDMI is only easier in the most basic use cases. Wanna hook up your game console to a TV and nothing else? Fine and dandy. Wanna run video over HDMI but not audio, even from a device that can output audio over HDMI? Often trickier. Wanna run audio over HDMI but not video? Good luck.

Discrete audio and video cables over connections that only support one or the other may mean an extra wire, but the potentially hours of headaches they save are totally worth a few seconds screwing in a cable.
Hence my complaining about HDMI being fucking terrible.

But HDMI is easier than everything else for ALL use cases by virtue of the fact that it is the only connector available on many devices.

(I think my BluRay player and dad's DVR are HDMI-only, but don't care enough to look.)

If I had my way, we'd have settled on a two-wire setup. One for video, and a second for audio.
I blame France. You can see SCART's dirty influence all over HDMI.

Covarr, you can't buy brand new video game console from a retailer without it including a controller. Additional controller's are accessories.
Typically, the manual lists it as an included accessory.

Nonetheless, a PS4 joypad is less of a game controller and more an entire second computer.

> That day would come someday, but not then.

My guess is we'll reach a 50/50 split when Windows drops 32-bit binary support, Dosbox is abandoned and stops working on the latest Windows, and so you have to run ZSNES inside Dosbox inside Virtualbox.

I'm betting people will use MAME to run Windows 95 to run ZSNES.

I don't follow the news that
Why, though? You're cutting off your nose to spite the face, no? It'd have to be an almost cartoonish evil.

Welcome to Venezuela, population WTF.

Seriously, you're talking about a leader that once engineered a toilet paper shortage to punish people for the opposition's popularity. Inept cartoon villainy is his stock in trade.

How many coins do I need to insert for 1 credit to play Windows 95?
Probably a dollar a credit, so 380 coins.

b) the US did it as a step in toppling the regime

If the US was trying to take out Venezuela, we would've DONE IT by now. The country's problems are genuinely self-inflicted, and fairly well-documented as such.
Also, the CIA probably wanted the aluminum equipment intact and usable.

Their dictator-in-chief is an inept, ham-fisted, and violent buffoon and his clumsy attempts to manipulate the mood of the people are doing more damage to his position than the CIA ever could.

According to the Venezuelan government, the blackout was an act of sabotage masterminded by the opposition leader, which is standard practice for Maduro. Every time anything goes wrong, it is the opposition's fiendish plan to destroy the country and sell it to the capitalist pigdogs. And every time something goes right for the opposition, Maduro makes sure something goes wrong in the country.
