Nice pictures. Did you choose to increase your health, magic, or stamina?

I plunked it all into INT (doesn't magic fall under that stat?) :D

Watched Gunbuster and Diebuster over the last few days. Very reminiscent of FLCL (same director, afaik), sexy and/or silly at times, and apparently very similar to TTGL (of which I only saw a few episodes many years ago). In the end it was enjoyable enough, even though it had some low points

I only vaguely remember that scene. It's literally been years since I saw the Buster series.

Recently binged through Zetsuen no Tempest. Made a lot of use of quotes from Shakespeare's Hamlet or The Tempest but I've never read them in full so a lot of them were unfamiliar to me. Pretty interesting way they handled the time magic shenanigans, I'd say it was at least fairly consistent.

I still have no idea what I'm talking about.

Never seen Diebuster.

It's only 6 episodes so definitely bingeable.

I mostly remember the scene where the one dude asks if the other dude is hungry and hands him a Snackers bar.

I think the writers definitely knew what they were aiming for when they did that scene. :D

I thought that episodes 20+21 (Hakaze going back) was the climax of the story, because Aika is just that awesome. All the episodes after that fell a bit flat because of that, imo.

Yeah, that rooftop scene where someone suddenly spoke behind Hakaze was particularly notable for me. Although I did already have my inkling about the whodunit, it was still pretty satisfying how it was revealed.

Also watched Sakasama no Patema and Belle recently. Both are feature length so they can be enjoyed in one sitting. Patema revolves around literally inverted races interacting with each other. The why is revealed eventually, and there's a pretty neat twist near the end but I won't elaborate further. Belle is basically a MetaverseTM take on Beauty and the Beast, but there is less focus on the romance (and not the characters you would initially expect) and just more on the interpersonal and emotional growth. If you've ever seen Summer Wars it has that similar feel to it. I'd say both are worth a watch if you don't have anything else on your list.

I still have no idea what I'm talking about.

Just spotted this at the nearest Chinesium supermarket, between the totally-not-expired butter and the 9000+ Tide clones:

Fake breakfast cereals, by Kallog'zĀ®

Supposedly those come from Colombia (which has an historical reputation over here on "shady business"), but knowing those Chinese, I suspect that the "MADE IN COLOMBIA" printings on those boxes most likely are fake too.

No fucking way in hell I'm eating that garbage... not that the average Venezuelan can afford it in first place, but then, the legit Kellogg's left the Venezuelan market a few years ago. But then, the commies seized the production plants after that so they continued the production of "legit" Corn FakesĀ®... now with government labels (unfortunately the "HECHO EN SOCIALISMO" stickers are not coming back), and without a valid license from Battle Creek, Michigan.

Apparently, you can get away with around 20% sawdust if this Food Theory episode is anything to go by.

It's not there, but I'm more of the 'Screw dat, I'm playing retro bro!' camp myself. :D

I think GPU prices won't be going down at least in the near future, so you might be better off putting your money into something you will benefit immediately from. Or you can always hold out for the next big thing that comes out of their fabs.

Germans got it right: still not vaxxed against China Pest? (WHY?!) Well, your jab is waiting for you inside a frickin' military Airbus! You get your shot AND a tour inside an airplane most mere mortals* wouldn't even dream of getting this near.

Yeah, I'd sign up for that even though I'm already fully vaxxed. I always thought the A400s looked really cool, that and the C17, and the C130, heck I just like planes. :D

Nvidia finally provides linux drivers but with a catch...

The catch being a lot of the functionality has been moved onto the actual silicon, with mostly stub code to allow basic functionality on Linux. The capabilities will still be kneecapped, but at least it can integrated into distros now. Sooo... a step in the right direction, I guess?

Vaundy - Hadaka no Yuusha

Have to agree with the general consensus regarding Ranking of Kings -- the show is totally a must watch. But the 2nd OP really brought it to the next level. I usually skip openings when I've seem them once, but I could never skip this one -- it's just an absolute banger. The animation of the opening just brings so many emotions in 90 seconds -- especially the scene with Bojji and Queen Hilling; and when the significance of the last few scenes are revealed in ep 22. I've already memorized the lyrics by heart in the first few times I've listened to it, and who knows how many times I've already played this song.

So yeah, just gushing on here... but one last thing I'd like to say:

- Didn't knew Japan also suffered of the (highly American) disease of copyright trolls. I guess greedy assholes are pretty much worldwide these days (seriously, charging ~$800 for "licensing" an IP that doesn't even belong to you in first place?! Dude, whoever you are, set the opium aside because you're literally higher than an Airbus!)

This reminds me of Toei Animation's notorious copyright crusade against an anime reviewer on Youtube. Although in Toei's defense, it was definitely their IPs, but they went around it was pretty merciless. So yeah, Japan is one the most advanced countries while simultaneously being the most backwards.

Today I learned that RWBY - Hyousetsu Teikoku by Shaft already has the first 3 episodes out.

Funny you mention that -- I wasn't aware it was even being broadcast at the time, but I actually caught it in my recommendations maybe no more than a few minutes of it going live :P
I thought at least the first episodes were pretty decent, although the animation and fight choreography in some parts didn't quite meet my expectations. I'm still hopeful they would animate the rest of the series like that clip you posted. I might still just be partial to the original though.

In other news, I'm pretty hyped for Mushoku Tensei Season 2 coming out. I've already finished reading the entire series, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of the series getting animated.

Not animes (yet) but I've been reading several isekai which I imagine would look really awesome if animated. One of them is The Beginning after the End which kind of starts out like Mushoku Tensei, but quickly distinguishes itself once story expands further. If you enjoy the fantasy/reincarnation genre, this might be something you'd find interesting.

Not a music person myself, but I found the breakdown of it was pretty educational. Some comments remarked it was probably just an editor being pressed for time and had to fit the intro/outro to the time slot :P

Canada just had its "oh shit, we've got upgraded to CANTV-tier service!" moment today:

Yeah woke up this morning to a flood of messages on Teams. I'm on Shaw though so wasn't affected. But yeah a good number of colleagues were forced to tether to their phones for the day. Rogers still down at the moment and no eta on when service will be resuming. :/

So. I am watching Bravern, the super robot anime of the season.

And the show has run into a narrative problem. As of the most recent episode, they have undone death twice via time travel... and are ending the episode with a dramatic death that I can't take seriously because death is barely an inconvenience in this show.

I've been curious about it since seeing Gigguk's video and I typically enjoy mecha shows. Appreciate your thoughts and will definitely have that in mind if I ever pick this up.

Currently rewatching 86 with the wife and so far she's been enjoying it. Other titles we recently finished watching together:
Apothecary Diaries
Oshi no Ko
7th Loop Villainess
Dr Stone New World
Skip and Loafer
Boku Yaba 2

Other than that currently watching on my own Undead Unluck and Classroom of Elite 3, and finished Solo Levelling. I was pretty happy it got an adaptation, but some part of me still think that it hasn't given the webtoon justice. I saw that Viral HIt has also gotten an adaptation, but seeing the animation of the first episode didn't inspire much confidence in me.

Unrelated, but it's nice to post to this board again after a long time. Been too preoccupied dealing with real life, so I've mostly just been lurking.

I still have no idea what I'm talking about.
