Xterm also has ths advantage of trying to actually emulate the terminals it claims to emulate, instead of claiming to be a specific DEC terminal and then behaving wildly diffrently.

On the other hand, something libvte-based will probably be better-behaved with newer software because of the nesticle effect.

As such, all governments that do engage in censorship are wrong and evil, and all that do not are just and good. It follows then that any activity that a good government has engaged in at any time is less evil than censorship.
A government can, for instance, NOT censor the fact that the country is run by mass-murdering genocidal racist nutjobs.
No censorship, but still wrong and evil. Censorship is not inherent proof of villainy, and lack thereof is not inherent proof of virtue.

And they can't actually take marketshare back from Chrome because Google controls advertising on the information superhighway, as well as a good percentage of the most popular websites.

Thank you, that's a pretty clear recap.

So if Mozilla is on a probable dead run off a cliff and the next Edge is Yet Another Chromium... doesn't that mean Chrome has a monopoly? Wasn't that sort of thing super illegal, or does it Technically Not Matter because on a level that the courts are likely to understand they're still different products?

It doesn't matter because american courts give no fucks about monopolies.
...
Also the whole "different products" thing. Nothing STOPS Microsoft or Opera or anyone from developing their own engine, and they can't actually PROVE Google is intentionally sabotaging them(though the Edge team was sure of it).

If they could actually prove Google was making changes to YouTube with the explicit purpose of ruining Edge's performance to make MS look bad for announcing "fake" benchmark results and make Chrome look better by knocking Edge's performance back behind Chrome, that would be one thing.
But they can't prove it, so it is all happenstance, coincidence, and suspicion.

Microsoft got into trouble due to exclusivity deals for windows/dos with a handful of major manufacturers, and shipping their OS in a manner that reduced choice to those new to computing. At the time of the case, you couldn't ship windows 9x without IE - you can ship an android without chrome, or any of google's apps.
Similar thing happened with either Windows XP or Windows Vista, resulting in Microsoft Windows asking you which Web Browser you'd like to use with it listing common browsers to choose from, the first time you attempt to open Internet Explorer.

At least in the UK I think? It's the N editions of Windows which have this behaviour.
Yeah, that was only ever a thing in Europe. In America, Microsoft explicitly forbade computer companies from installing Firefox or Chrome on their Windows machines, and that was okay because the purchasers could still go to firefox.com to get Firefox or any other URL on the internet to get Chrome, so they weren't FORCING anyone to use IE.

Hence the "IE's only task is to download Firefox/Chrome" joke, no matter if you're American or European.

I set Edge up to delete cookies on close, and use it to view sites I think are bad at minding their own business.
...
And for downloading Seamonkey.

But the "download Firefox" thing was for the portion of the populace that cared, which was never a majority.
And the "download Chrome" thing is... well, due to Google's ad dominance. Any Google website will throw up a "harder better faster stronger browser, download Chrome" ad when you visit it with a non-Chrome browser.

As it is, though, even though I immediately started NG+, I think I might uninstall it and grab the next game from my overflowing "to play" queue. Who knows, I might come back to it later.

There is the free DLC coming later, so it would be more worthwhile to wait for that and experience the new content without having to do an extra play through.
Except that's a new playable character/game mode, not another wing of the castle. I believe starting a replay from a Miriam clear save will start replay mode with Miriam, not Zangetsu.

Apple's demanded the annual fee for a while on pocket computers and tablet computers. They're just extending that out to desktop and laptop systems now.
(I've never been clear if the annual fee is only required to sign and upload stuff, or if your software disappears from their storefront when you stop paying the ransom.)

Making people pay a fee and crypto-sign applications before they can be included in a store is normal and fine, IMO. The problem comes in when they make it harder and harder to load applications from other sources.
A one-time fee, sure, I guess.
An annual fee, well, you better take a 0% slice of their actual sales instead of a third.

As a bonus, bluebomb also works on older, uncrippled Wiis (I guess this should be the way to go if somehow you don't have a <4GB SD card handy yet you own a Bluetooth-enabled laptop and an USB stick)

Str2Hax exists if you don't have a SD handy, but it requires using a random DNS that may go down at any point. So this is handy for that future.

https://github.com/Fullmetal5/str2hax You SHOULD be able to set this up on a local system and point the Wii towards it, removing a dependency on outside servers. That's workable until Microsoft shuts down Github(any day now, right?).

So here's a thing I think I'll bait Tom with.

Adobe is deactivating all accounts in Venezuela
Seems like that should hit a lot of services, not just the mud.

RIP Tomman's Steam account.

Edit: Except I just read the executive order and Adobe's just slinging mud. It calls for the seizing of venezuelan government assets, not banning everyone suffering under the dictator's yoke.

And as you've guessed, I won't be using proxies/VPNs anytime soon. Sorry buddy, I need not to explain my reasons to people like you as you will turn them into another 3-page shitpost craze, so let's leave it as is.

We're getting one anyways, because if you don't align with his worldview then you are objectively wrong and must justify your wrongness to him so he can better illustrate how wrong you are.

As always, good luck, man. If I had the cash, I'd hire a mercenary team and kick the assholes out for you. As they say, if violence isn't the answer then you aren't using enough.

Why's the A-Team gotta be fictional?

They aren't. They're just hard to find.
" If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The A-Team."

Believing they aren't real just makes it harder to find them.

https://simpleflying.com/emirates-criticizes-boeing-airbus/

The Emirates CEO reminds that airplanes are not cellphones and therefore you should be receiving nearly flawless products right from delivery date - you're not expected to buy a new iJet A7 every year at $LOADSOMONEY because neither airframe nor engine OEMs can't properly debug their shit nowadays :/
And that for the price you pay, they damn well better figure out a way to deliver these things promptly instead of taking your money and then delaying your plane deliveries for two years.

I thought Apple was bad, but Boeing makes them look downright saintly.
