Man, the final episode of Kagya Wants to be Confessed To: The Geniuses' War of Love and Brains: The Moving Picture Spectacle was better than I expected. They went one chapter PAST I Can't Hear The Fireworks so they could end it on a comedy note. While Kaguya Doesn't Want to Avoid is not one of the stronger chapters, I appreciated the post-Fireworks fallout making it into the show instead of ending it on a nice standard shoujo romance note. I was disappointed in how they fit the title for I Can't Hear the Fireworks part 2 in. They just put it at the beginning of the chapter like a normal title. The comic put it at the very last panel of the chapter, where the titular dialog went. It was a nice stylistic flourish, and I was disappointed that the anime missed it. --- In UTF-16, where available. --- |

Anime Short 'Starlight Angel' | Part of 'Robot Carnival' I don't know how this ended up in my Youtube Recommendations, but I enjoyed the retro 80s art style :) I still have no idea what I'm talking about. |

I remember Robot Carnival! Also, 1987. Genuine 80s art style, not retro. --- In UTF-16, where available. --- |

While doing backups and offloading some junk to the "I won't cry that much if this HDD dies" drive, I found some old shorts from the very first Animator Expo organized by I didn't downloaded all of them, but only the following shorts: - Carnage: At a first glance, it looks like something I would have watched on MTV in the '90s. That's all I will say about this one. NEXT! - Gensatsu Gundam: Gundams. Done by some guys that are now at Trigger because they love Gundams. Not for me, sorry. NEXT! - Hill Climb Girl: Sooooo... when is the TV anime premiering? Seriously, I would watch it, a Licensed Tour De France romcom, despite myself having next no interest in cyclist competitions (not even at the Olympics). By far my favorite of the bunch, gotta love that girl' motivation and guts. And about her rival... now that's a interesting way to concede defeat. - ME! ME! ME!: This Teddyloid music video became viral back then (most of the people coming to watc the Animation Expo shorts most likely did because of this specific short), and for good reasons - this short got its T's and A's straight. Especially its T's. This is the weirdest pornless porn I've seen in quite some time. Your wet otaku dreams became... a true nightmare, and then some! This shit would work great as a VR title. Not exactly my favorite of the bunch, but I guess a little bit of acid does hit the spot... - Nishiogikubo: Ah, the girl that wakes up to notice that she has turned into a - The Dragon Dentist: "Dragons cry from their teeth". Spoilers: everybody dies. I don't really get the point of this one... - Until you come to me: An Evangelion AMV. GET THIS JUNK OUT OF MY FACE NAO! N-E-X-T! Yeah, there were about 35+B+extra episodes according to the wiki. I've stalled for some time at ep 18 (Four seasons with Ochibi), guess it's time to finish the rest of it. I still have no idea what I'm talking about. |

Apparently they closed the Animator Expo site sometime in late 2018 (now all you can see is a notice telling that they're moving the contents elsewhere "shortly"). Bummer :/ EDIT: Those shorts are now officially available in Blu-Ray. Also, someone archived the original web contents here... and the torrent has seeds! I guess I'll complete the watch then. It's been pointed out to me that One Punch Man Season 2 is finally airing, and already 6 episodes in. I'm looking forward to it. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI. |

Posted by Screwtape I was also looking forward to it, but I had to temper my optimism though -- I've read that it's no longer the same studio (Madhouse) doing the animation, being done instead by JC Staff (Index/Railgun). Also the director changed since Shingo Natsume is now working on Boogiepop, being replaced by Chikara Sakurai, who's done work with Naruto. So... yeah... I still have no idea what I'm talking about. |

I've enjoyed lolligerjoj's AMVs, I first heard about him in Gigguk's video on AMVs Video titled tan(x) >> features Daft Punk's song titled Touch >> line that lies on a curve at a single point is called tangent >> line touches curve >> tangent >> touch >> TOUCH!!! Omg, that just made sense to me now! I still have no idea what I'm talking about. |

tan(x) also repeatedly progresses from low to high before crashing back into negative... hence the mood swings in the video. My current setup: Super Famicom ("2/1/3" SNS-CPU-1CHIP-02) → SCART → OSSC → StarTech USB3HDCAP → AmaRecTV 3.10 |

Posted by KoiMaxx Watched the first 7 episodes of OPM season 2 and honestly -maybe I just didn't have any expectations but I'm enjoying the show so far, even though I can see it's not quite in the same league as season 1. |

I've watched up to episode 4, and I have noticed the animation is a bit lower-budget (making the occasional 60fps CGI even more jarring), but I am having a great time. It's worth pointing out that the the manga was in some respects even nicer than series 1, so I'm not going to complain about that. I am a little disappointed in the pacing so far, though. The first series started off with a bunch of smaller plotlines so we got to meet all the different characters individually and see them interacting with each other before the big crescendo at the end. By contrast, this season feels like it's spent the first few episodes rushing through the cast list to give them each a basic introduction, then repeating "Garo Is Bad" and "Saitama Enters The Super-Fight Competition" over and over. I assume Garo is this season's villain and he'll finally fight Saitama in episode 10 or 11, but I'm worried I'll be bored of the Garo and Super-Fight plotlines by then. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI. |

Garo is not the main villain. This season does seem to be covering a lot of ground, and I'm worried they're gonna run out of time and omit some of the cool subplots. --- In UTF-16, where available. --- |

Posted by Screwtape Posted by CaptainJistuce Ah, that's too bad. I was kinda hoping that he'd be the main bad guy, plus the flashback of kid Garo really gave us a lot more insight into his character, cementing him as a complex villain with conflicting motivations... |
