I'm glad I don't sell video games for a living... And they still wonder why all the nerdrage and hategasm after those (non)announcements!?!? Posted by tomman To be fair, they've been ignoring fan feedback for a while, since Diablo 3. I was really put off when they got rid of all the Christian mythology heaven/hell stuff and went dork-fantasy with it. I don't see them returning to style now because they'd be too afraid to offend someone and, "God" forbid, lose money. |

And on top of that: the absolute shitshow of a damage-control job they're doing...I mean, just disable the YT comments at this point ffs instead of trying to delete the negative ones. Every gaming news is reporting on it and you're just damaging your brand/game further. Seriously, it boggles the mind sometimes how incompetent the PR of those big companies can be. |

Posted by tomman Eh, the "not coming to PC" statement looks to be misunderstood. While Diablo: Immortal isn't coming to PC they didn't say they aren't working on a PC game (they've said multiple times they're working on multiple Diablo projects). Seemingly the people on stage didn't realize this misunderstanding either. Posted by Nicholas Steel Gamers are not pissed due to that - they're angry because of the snarky "DO YOU DO NOT HAVE PHONES?" remark. Pulling shit like this is like using to a Texas pick-up truck show to launch a electric bike as the centerpiece show and then trying to calm down a pack of angry rednecks with shotguns with a lame "hey, do you do not drive bikes?!" PR statement. Blizzard could have used a more sensible approach to announce their cellphone game without picking on the hornets' nest. Say, a side announcement or something, and a token "but we're still committed to PC games and there is more to come!" release - sure, that would have still caused nerdrage (because haters gonna hate and this is the Internet), but NOT at the level of this PR hurricane - this is solely their fault! Posted by CaptainJistuce Remember to top up the headlight fluid :D Speaking of Tesla Tesla VS Hard Things Recently I've been looking more and more into vehicle safety ratings and crash tests. It's fascinating how something presumably solid deforms with enough force, and how it's made to deform in a deliberate (if not controlled) manner. I still have no idea what I'm talking about. |

Windows 10 can't correctly recognize MBR USB pen drives? Windows it self says the drive is under 64MB in size, Minitool Partition Wizard however says that Windows is unable to recognize more than just the first partition on the USB Pen Drive and any attempts to format, delete & recreate the main 4GB partition yields no success in being able to access that space. Neither Windows nor Partition Wizard can make it a MBR disk without there being a 150MB partition before the main (4GB) partition... but if I change it to GPT the entire USB stick can be made in to a single partition... I found that for finicky flash drives, running CLEAN DISK from DiskPart usually does the trick. I still have no idea what I'm talking about. |

It ended up fixing it self once I made it a GPT disk, deleted every partition and then while it was all erased I converted it to MBR. AMD Ryzen 3700X | MSI Gamer Geforce 1070Ti 8GB | 16GB 3600MHz DDR4 RAM | ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero (WiFi) Motherboard | Windows 10 x64 |

Yeah, Windows has some silly in-built assumptions about flash devices(that aren't plugged into SATA or PCIE). It simply ASSUMES there is only one partition on there, because why would you EVER want to repartition one of those silly little things? It causes trouble if you DO manage to get one partitioned and subsequently want it to not be. I believe the official support page for such an event just reads "Here be dragons". --- In UTF-16, where available. --- |

Even if you aren't a chemistry nerd (and if you're a dweller at the bBoards, chances are you aren't one), you will enjoy this series of blogposts from an actual chemist that earns a living making drugs (of the legal variety!): Things I Won't Work With Things I'm Glad I Don't Do His posts are quite understandable, even for those that their only knowledge of chemistry are blowing up things at high school classrooms. Look for "Satan's kimchi", "cocaine-soaked cobras", "hexanitro" and "the scientists-to-limbs ratio" for some good (if dangerous!) fun. Posted by tomman I'm sad that his blog has shifted over time into more boring medical science stuff and less "Jesus what the fuck are these explosives scientists making?!" The chlorine trifluoride and FOOF posts have resonated with large swaths of the population. And for all your mad science needs, the comments linked a PDF of the rocket history book Ignition!: http://library.sciencemadness.org/library/books/ignition.pdf Which is somewhat hilarious, and not as math-heavy as you would expect from a book about rocket fuels written by a rocket scientist. --- In UTF-16, where available. --- |
