Hi everyone! Forgive my newbishness, but I'm trying to figure out how to work higan (just downloaded it today).

First, how do you take screenshots with the emulator (specifically for SNES games)? That's the main reason I'm using the emulator, to take screenshots for various game guides I write.

Also, it's moving painfully slow. When I load A Link to the Past, it moves at 20 FPS or slower. Is there a simple way to improve the frame rate so it runs at a normal speed?

    Thanks in advance!

Toshiba Satellite C55Dt-A, processor: AMD A6-5200 APU with Radeon HD Graphics, installed RAM: 2.00 GHz, 4.00 GB (3.45 GB usable), 64-bit operating system with x64-based processor.

That's what I found under device specifications. Is that what you needed to know?

Higan uses a high accuracy method of emulation for SNES that is very CPU intensive.
Your CPU is probably not up to the task, being an AMD and all ( high core count, but weak cores; and the double whammy is that higan/bsnes only uses one core ).

I'd say use another SNES emulator on that machine.

For screenshots try SNES9x or BizHawk (uses an older bsnes core). SNES9x and bsnes are also available as cores in RetroArch.

    My current setup: Super Famicom ("2/1/3" SNS-CPU-1CHIP-02) → SCART → OSSC → StarTech USB3HDCAP → AmaRecTV 3.10

If you're looking for a decent GUI, Snes9x is your only choice, here. BizHawk lacks a GUI and RetroArch has been angry fruit salad ever since it stopped being SSNES. Or you could just use Shift+PrintScreen with Higan.

Sorry but it's very unlikely your CPU can run higan at full speed. one of my older AMD PCs has a slightly faster CPU similar to yours and it cannot run higan full speed either.Like it was said, your best bet is SNES9X
