    In what context?

    Sounds like checkboxes for forcing a wait for updates and/or forcing a flush of a screen or sound buffer. Both will significantly reduce your performance but might be good for debugging software. If you just want to game, leave them unchecked.

    I think I figured it out. In bsnes's settings.bml Blocking refers to the Synchronize checkbox and Flush the GPU sync checkbox.
