Looks like Youtube is killing their classic/old website design: https://imgur.com/a/5X51ux9

Like I reported on Discord: I got the warning banner, I clicked it, I clicked the big button, and I got the old YT still, with the same damn banner. Top job, folks.

I got the same, but I'm using a browser add-on that forces the old style Youtube to load so it was expected.

Edit: yup, I did have one of those.

Please tell me you people why do you insist in watching videos ON A WEB BROWSER, instead of a media player, as $DEITY intended...

So, in a scale of "0 to Javascript", how terrible is it? (can't review it myself for rather obvious reasons)

It's a bit hard for me to properly gauge how it is because I'm rendering a bunch of things and that slows down the rest, but the most obvious thing is that everything's so much bigger all of a sudden. Very... intended to be touch-friendly, perhaps?

    It is total Javascript.

I was using the "use redesign N-1" addon because (at the time) the latest redesign depended on a non-standard Chrome feature, so on Firefox the site was implemented using a JS fallback.

I don't know whether Firefox implemented the old feature, or if YouTube updated their site to use the standards-compliant version that Firefox *does* implement, but it doesn't seem to be as slow as I remembered, so yay?

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

I'm just using whatever they have always slogged off to me, with no attempt to revert to some old design. Oh, and I also use the official app on mobile devices.

Oh, and I'm also paying them $11.99 per month for the Premium status.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the problem.

    Seriously, who pays for YouTube?

A media player isn't a website that you can navigate. So you have to switch between browser and file manager, especially if you want to rename and move the file. It's not worth it if I know that I won't watch them again. The only exception for me are reactions where I watch the video in the media player and the reaction in the browser on another monitor.

Everyone uploads their videos to youtube and downloading each video I want to watch to my computer sounds like a waste of time.

    *bump*

YT now prevents people from watching popular streams unless they subscribe?

That might just be one of the dumbest decisions they've ever made.

Reminds me of those "you must sign up to view anything relevant" forums kind of.

This does not actually go there and I regret nothing.
