A sizeable chunk is uncompressed audio assets, it'd be nice if more higly compressed audio assets was the default with a HD audio pack being an optional download (like how some games have optional HD Texture Packs to download).

You forgot to mention the PS5's cooling setup doesn't cool all of the memory chips. There's at least one along the bottom with no heatsink and very little if any airflow over it. It basically operates at maximum acceptable temperature the entire time you're gaming >.>" there's also apparently not very much in the way of cooling for the user accessible NVMe compartment.

So long as I can have bookmarks below the address bar, tab bar below the bookmarks and nothing but the application name/page name in the title bar... I'll be somewhat okay if they leave the ability to edit the UI via CSS.

At least the Hidden Palace folks managed to put a smile on Yuji Naka's face in the very first day of the year, judging from he liking the HP release tweet instead of calling the Sony Cops Nintendo Ninjas lawyers :)

That's actually really cool of him, but I guess he can publicly acknowledge these kind of things since he's no longer working at Sega.
I always wonder what these industry folks think about prototypes/leaks/fan works on a personal level, legal team aside.

Reactions... vary.

Some get nostalgic, reminiscent of the good ol' times. ("Oh hey, you found that old broken beta build? Cool!")
Some devs DO leak/release their own protos by themselves, which is real awesome.
Some... don't take it easy, due to many reasons, but eventually get over it and start telling their stories. For a recent example (by none other but Sega themselves!), look at the Golden Axed incident.
And some call for immediately shredding any and all files, then unleashing the hounds, as prototypes may reopen painful wounds from a distant past.

Sega marketing treated the Golden Axed devs like absolute shit iirc, so it's perfectly sensible for those devs to be pissed the fuck off.

MozillaZine[/url], although that place is doomed due to the impending close of the latter (it seems that MZ has been in autopilot lately, with downtimes becoming common).

Hence why I've backed up the Firefox tweaks compilation I've compiled over the years (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=3058484&p=14854838#p14854838) to some text files on my HDD's.

For data recovery labs around the world, 2021 just started with a BANG!

The moron that did that to that Toshitachi deserved to lose all his/her data. At least the DR guy got a nice Moto Racer CD case :D

Tangential question: How do newest GPUs (without 2D guts at all?) like a $UNLIMITED_MONEY RTX3080Ti deal with DOS-era graphics?

Afaik a lot of VESA modes are no longer supported.

I would very strongly recommend Snes9x, especially if the latest works in Windows 98. ZSNES is extremely bad and I know from personal experience of using it in Windows 9x in the 90's and early 2000's. If you insist on using ZSNES I'd suggest the MS-DOS version for performance (you can run it within Windows), just make sure to choose a 16bit graphics mode to get some semblance of transparency for transparency effects.

v1.36 of ZSNES probably behaves the most *sensibly* so long as you're not playing any games that used special hardware like the SA1, C4 or SuperFX chips.

A Microsoft account logon is mandatory for Home editions, because your non-techy family members are too dumb for having personal computers these days, according to the entire IT industry.

Assuming Microsoft starts storing a copy of your TPM decryption keys on your Microsoft Account, this forced use of Microsoft Accounts for Home Users may be to avoid an issue where someone "forgot to backup their key and now can't access any data" scenario.

Of course having your decryption key stored online is kinda dumb from a security view point but... eh.

This is probably going to be lots of work for me (at home and on the job) because Secure Boot needs GPT partitions. I might try the conversion tool on my installation, after doing a backup.

I also don't see my i7-4790K on the list of supported CPUs.

And nope, your Haswell is too old for Windows, according to MS. There are workarounds for that (it involves mixing Windows 10 setup media with Windows 11 images or something), and of course, if you're an OEM and have a very convincing business case to ship unsupported configurations with Windows 11, MS will waive the requirements for you.

Involves replacing a single DLL with a copy from Windows 10 iirc.

Your extra $20 over the base model gets:
- A slightly bigger OLED display (7")
- An Ethernet jack on the dock
- Twice the internal storage (64GB!)
- The very same old dated Tegra chip, and the same amount of RAM

64GB of storage instead of 32GB
New dock includes a Ethernet port (USB <-> Ethernet adapter built-in).
New dock has 1 less USB port

7" OLED screen instead of 6.2" LCD screen
Ambiguously "better" speakers
Wide Kick-stand
Same performance and resolution capability as the Nintendo Switch.

The first 3 things are relevant to those that use the device docked, the rest is irrelevant to said users.
