This after the whole thing with the dates.
It is easy to know what decade you're in, which makes it easy to correct.
Also, new hardware uses the 13-bit week counter instead of the 10-bit one, and is good for a century and a half.

Some homemade firearms confiscated from Zimbabwian poachers.

They look like they'd be somewhat, umm, EXCITING to fire, in a "will it explode into shrapnel right next to my face" sort of way.

One of them is ADORABLE in how hard it tries to look like a "real gun". There's a wooden foregrip on it that looks suspiciously like it is based off the magazine of a modern rifle(such as an AR15 or AK47). It implies to me that the "gunsmith" THOUGHT that the curved thing sticking down in front of the trigger on those gun pictures he saw was a foregrip and not a magazine.

Pretty cool though. Why can't they use real (rifle) ammunition? Still too expensive?
Smokeless powder requires tougher steel than black powder, and modern rifle ammo is smokeless.
There's a non-zero chance the split one at the end of the video was fed some smokeless.

I. Am. Not. Going. To. Install. Browser. Addons.

End of story.

I'm also not interested into those idealist hardcore nerd "read only computer" model. I'm happy with my current setup, and would change nothing of it.
Gotta admit, it was a lot harder to hack the OS when we ran out of ROM.

> "sorry SNES9x sucks use higan"

Now there's a statement I never thought I'd hear >_>

You're winning! Another decade or two and you may be number one!

This actually would be a problem if people made RAM chips this way: writing to one address would modify two readable locations. But in the 25 systems I support, I've yet to encounter a RAM, EEPROM, or Flash chip that wasn't a power of two. I know they exist however.

I know of some systems that do that, but at a board-level rather than chip-level.

(In fact, the scratchpad RAM on my 99/4a is that way. There's a 1K block reserved for the scratchpad RAM, but they only installed 256 bytes because SRAMs were expensive, and the same quarter-K is readable and writable at all four "slots" in the reserved address block.)

"The day after his arrival, Le Roux signed a proffer agreement, agreeing to plead guilty to these two charges in exchange for immunity against prosecution for any other crimes he might admit to. Immediately after, he admitted to arranging or participating in seven murders for which he thus could not be prosecuted."

I also expect this approach to fall on its ass for any mode 7 scene that isn't literally just a simple rotozoomed quad (eg Hyperzone.)
Now I'm curious what Hyperzone does that is unusual. It doesn't APPEAR to be doing anything particularly interesting.

To add on, the graphics chipset offers eight background modes of varying capabilities. And instead of descriptive names like "high-res mode" and "cool 3D effects mode", they were officially identified by the numbers 0 through 7. The numbers were assigned because they were the number you had to feed the PPU to make it shift into the desired mode.

- DISABLE AUTOMATIC UPDATES ONCE YOU'RE DONE INSTALLING SHIT! The last thing you want to listen is to Granny bitching and moaning because her Chrome rearranged all the icons ONCE AGAIN because some UXtarded Silly Valley art school dropout had yet another epiphany when drinking a bubble tea while driving his Tesla!

Word, though the guys doing the Chrome interface probably can't afford Teslas.

I moved off Chrome on Android because I was sick of the interface changing without warning every time I looked away. Don't remember what the last straw was anymore.
