Good work with the new release of BSNES. I'm trying to compare Higan v106 performance with it and I gotta ask, why does Load a ROM in Higan v106 always open to my User folder? I only see an option to specify a default path for Libraries (which is honored if I want to load a game from a Library). Edit: The same happens in BSNES v108 when configuring paths. when Assigning a path clicking an Assign button will always, always open to my Windows User folder (yes, even if a path is already defined) and in both Higan and BSNES I can't just copy/paste/manually type the paths in to any of the fields, I have to click Assign to configure one. Load Game honors the specified path in BSNES, but it unloads the currently running ROM before you even attempt to open another ROM (what if you wanted to cancel?). Mupen64 Plus and GLideN64 video plugin have both been a god send for N64 emulation. Mupen64+ because its accuracy is great & also allows it to use sane defaults for unknown games, allowing hacks like Zelda: Ocarina of Time Randomizer to work without having to do any shenanigans to load game-specific-hacks from a emulator database (the resulting files are also compatible with an actual N64!). GLideN64 is able to accurately recreate many/all(?) visual effects that N64 games used which is pretty friggen amazing to see in action, though performance can be pretty abysmal for some games (Goldeneye anyone? Especially when you get the Night Vision goggles). I'm disappointed there's no N64 music plugin for media players that can correctly play the music from 1080 snowboarding. Posted by CaptainJistuceIt was old versions of this tool https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=section&a=details&id=17546 because it overwrote the audio echo data or some such which for ZSNES is fine and for anything remotely like a real SNES will wreck havoc. Nvidia is finally adding Integer Scaling to their video drivers in addition to a Low Latency mode: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/gamescom-2019-game-ready-driver/ So now their drivers are pretty feature comparible with their competitors. The annoying thing is that they decided to make it a surprise announcement and were staying silent regarding these feature requests... Edit: Integer Scaling isn't available for Pascal and older generation video cards... wtf!? Posted by funkyassI don't get why it needs to be limited to Turing and newer series cards. It's not like it's increasing the Internal Rendering Resolution (that's what Dynamic Super Resolution/Super Sample Anti-Aliasing does). Most emulators support Integer upscaling in software with no discernible performance impact! Posted by tommanAt least Fermi did eventually get DirectX 12 support, even if it was only the software components of DirectX 12. I think it took 3 or so years after DirectX 12 support was added to Windows 10 for them to finally fulfil that promise. Here's a nice Zelda: Link's Awakening TAS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bRngRpHF80No wrong warping, superswimming, superdash screenwarping, map wrapping, or out of bounds screens. "Out of bounds screens" are screens not possible to get to legitimately, such as filler screens, screens with invalid tiletypes, and screens with the wrong color palate loaded(such as Tail Caves palate in Bottle Grotto). During screen transitions, the game applies the next screen's graphical set to the previous screen before shifting, causing incorrect visual appearances in some unintended transitions I perform, however the next screen is perfectly fine, therefore not out of bounds. Incorrect sprite appearances are not against the rules, since the previous movies had this happen as well. Because it would be a slippery slope to implement support for 1 unlicensed game? People would then ask why there's no official support for the other unlicensed games...
