Was referring to games in general rapidly incrasing in size though, not just Cyberpunk. (Also, you forgot your GBs of RAM lol.)

And fair point, I guess for an open world game it makes sense for the game to be big anyways, but I was more referring to other genres that don't actually need to use that much space, that aren't as dynamic as CP2077.

I don't speak German. Someone else passed that info onto me ages ago, maybe they misworded it.

EDIT:
I found another bug, see this thread.

Also, is there a board changelog anywhere? I'd like to know what exactly was optimised for this version of ABXD, particularly in the way of known security fixes etc. - this is built from v2.2.2's source code I imagine? I was going to mess with that same version myself for the fun of it you see, heh.

A sizeable chunk is uncompressed audio assets, it'd be nice if more higly compressed audio assets was the default with a HD audio pack being an optional download (like how some games have optional HD Texture Packs to download).

Agreed - for voice clips, they really don't need to be in WAV format, at least compress it using some lossless codec such as FLAC (or shudders in those horrible Emuparadise PS1 dumps APE)... There's a reason digital talk-station radio broadcasts tend to use lower bitrates, they don't need to preserve nearly as much of the original audio quality as actual music does, so it's more efficient to just compress it further.

offtopic-ish
At least, if DAB and its relatives were implemented in a way that wasn't a steaming pile of shite in the UK, though the problem was far less prevalent ten years ago. The rock stations on D1/SDL National in the UK nowadays operate in 64/80kbps Mono and we never used DAB+ so it's obsolete, inefficient MP2 rather than AAC!! At least until about 2015 or 2016 when they started adding a bunch of shit to the station list, they used to be in 112Kbps or 128Kbps Stereo-Joint MP2....

Either way it's fucking stupid. You can't even rely on KFC to have chicken in their shops, and when they do, it's dry as fuck.

How does iOS update its root certificates, out of curiosity? I wonder if Apple finally did something half decent for once here... Android in general always felt horribly unpolished in so many ways though, and Google making it convoluted as all hell for anyone but the manufacturers of low-end devices to maximise profits for ad collection seems so convenient.

More like *smartdevice at this point, given some things that try to force you to use apps to sign in or whatever, or QR code scanners or whatever bullshit of the day.

Because some people will never learn from their mistakes...
Because this soap opera just needed a new season...
Because I still need more reasons to lose faith in mankind...
Because Moz://a is run by morons clowns UXtards...

Behold, another pointless UI redesign: Proton!

https://www.msftnext.com/how-to-enable-the-2021-proton-design-in-firefox/
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1678742

Do the changes in the Proton program increase the number of users who enjoy using Firefox? Conduct an in-product, at-scale survey before and after the changes to document user response in the areas of visual resigned and cohesion.

Why bother? The echo chamber has been full throttle since Asstralis, they will ignore the results anyway and proceed with their "vision", losing whatever remnants of a so-called "user base" they could still have.
Way to kill themselves and concede victory to the Browser Dictatorship For Life, Google Fuckin' Chrome!

We need to sack Baker, sack the SJWs, and bring back sanity to Mozilla ASAP. Make Firefox Great Again!
Or... even better: Make Suite Great Again.

I honestly suspect that's been their intention since pre-Australis, probably sometime after the whole 'version increment' crap that seemingly served to break the plugin architecture for the longest possible time in order to make the versions look Chromey.

If SeaMonkey managed to fork the Gecko build they have now and leave it at that, and ignore everything else from upstream from this point onwards regardless of how few are working on the project, it would eventually do them good.

- The AMD SoC clearly says "PROJECT SCARLETT" on the die laser engraving marks, instead of just "Microsoft Xbox". Cute.

UwU

I know someone with the new Xbox and they're running RetroArch's PS2 and Wii cores on it since they paid for the developer mode thingy lol. She said PS5 is the worse of the two this generation, and given Sony's current attitude... I don't blame them. Never forget how Sony UK responded to a Gran Turismo event a few years ago: "who the fuck would play this, the graphics are shit!" or something like that, he was quoted as saying...

Im guessing they shoved it into their entertainment units with no regard for airflow.

/offtopic: change 'it' for the J2ME Sonic 1 port, 'entertainment unit' for GBA, and 'airflow' for 'the hardware' and you basically get Sonic Genesis GBA not gonna lie lmao

I just googled 256x224 and the first result is a thread from 2012 called... Why are most super NES games in 256x224?
Basic research can do so much, can't it?

On a note, SNES was horribly underpowered for its time, the SPC700 is a great example of this even to non-technical people. The amount of RAM dedicated to it was pretty much fuck all even for its time, which explains why it sounds so muffled (if I'm remembering right it was like, 64K)

You remember right.

I suppose if you don't BRR compress low-frequency samples a bunch, they'd be a lot crisper... but then you wouldn't be able to fit 'em into less than 64K.

Exactly, what were they thinking...? I use the paltry level of RAM as an example of why the MD sound chip is superior much of the time, plus well it has an actual synthesiser built-in to it making it far more versatile.

The Nintendo Ninjas have been real since the 1990s - remember UltraHLE and how the two developers were basically forced to abandon their identities by Nintendo's pervasive bullying or pay a massive sum in court?
