Please help me, I can't seem to find where they've put the audio drivers on the new website. I can only find network drivers. The search box also doesn't seem to help. Apparently they switched to UAD style drivers and I'd like to see if they still support the ALC1200 chip. Hmm, okay I've found this https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zoo/category/pc-audio-codecs-high-definition-audio-codecs-software but it doesn't list any UAD/DCH/whatever format driver they now use. Edit: I might just use the drivers from the Windows Update catalog, they're over a year newer than what's on the Realtek website (and Realtek's v2.82 has busted software but working driver so there's no detriment to switching to the Microsoft driver). I'm looking through this site for info on what the latest compatible driver actually is: https://www.tenforums.com/sound-audio/ AMD Ryzen 3700X | MSI Gamer Geforce 1070Ti 8GB | 16GB 3600MHz DDR4 RAM | ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero (WiFi) Motherboard | Windows 10 x64 |

OH MY GOD Realtek has now fallen too as a prey of the UXtarded webshit abomination too! Look, their 1999s website was dated, but it worked fine for its purpose. Now... it's a unusable piece of Web 3.0 junk, complete with burger menu uselessness, and a completely broken software download section! (All I get is either a broken page, or drivers for network cards and "computer peripherals" (of which now audio codecs are now considered a part of it, despite of the fact that sound cards were never considered a peripheral, much less modern integrated audio codecs on motherobards. Oh, and for whatever reason their website now defaults to Simplified Chinese. Fun. Thanks China! (or Taiwan, politically they're different, but computer-wise they're the same pile of broken junk) As for the driver, I never heard about Realtek removing support for older codecs, considering that they all abide to the HDA spec since 2006 or so. Leaving aside my Asus laptop (which won't work properly with anything but the Asus driver package - latest Realtek packages break the headphones jack), I've never had trouble using their newest driver packs on early generation HDA stuff. But then, you're speaking about Win10, where they keep changing the rules every 3 weeks or so, therefore I have no useful advice for you :/ Licensed Pirate® since 2006, 100% Buttcoin™-free, enemy of All Things JavaScript™ |

Posted by tomman No Taiwanese ever tried to install spyware on my devices. I can remember owning one Taiwanese product, a pair of Superlux headphones, which were of good quality until they broke from a batshit insane design decision. ("let's make the cable detachable but have a 5cm male sticking out from it and require an extension cord instead of putting a female directly on the headphone body so you can put an ipod directly on your headphones") Manufacturing quality was good though. Cheap and good sound, would buy again. (EDIT: Also lots of ASUS products which worked well, only way you could tell they were Taiwanese was from the odd writing style in the manual) Looking at IA, audio codecs were computer peripherals with the old website too. But man, what a piece of shit website. It almost crashed my browser, a feat which no other site but Reddit manages. There was a certain photograph about which you had a hallucination. You believed that you had actually held it in your hands. It was a photograph something like this. |

Hmm... the latest Microsoft supplied drivers were a bad idea >.>" today I got a PFN_LIST_CORRUPT error for no reason not long after I began using Firefox and 5 minutes after power cycling the PC I got a Quota_Underflow BSOD while I was again attempting to use Firefox. So after the 2nd power cycle of the PC I immediately went to Device Manager and uninstalled the audio drivers & software. I'll leave it like this for a bit but so far everything seems to be back to stable condition. Posted by funkyassNah, but the Realtek drivers from the Realtek website (not my motherboard website) up to v2.8 Realtek haven't released on their website any drivers newer than the v2.82 release (2017 release), but there are newer releases of drivers available from motherboard manufacturer websites, Microsoft etc. I just wanted to see if newer drivers would work and see if they can improve stuff like better handling at lower buffer sizes so I can get the audio more responsive. I have a feeling the instability was caused by updates to Windows 10 rendering the O/S incompatible with the version of MSI Afterburner I was using (v4.6 Beta 10), I've now updated it to 4.6 beta 15 and also configured it to use the safer Kernel mode (since it's only being used to manage the fans and not monitor anything it shouldn't be costly to use kernel mode). Edit: Or not, I'm locked out of a lot of my HDD partitions with this error: https://imgur.com/a/JRcCG28 the error stopped after a reboot and my copy of AIDA64 now works >.> AMD Ryzen 3700X | MSI Gamer Geforce 1070Ti 8GB | 16GB 3600MHz DDR4 RAM | ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero (WiFi) Motherboard | Windows 10 x64 |

Posted by Nicholas Steel maybe it's time to use an LTSB or LTSC version of Win10, Nicholas Steel, which only get security updates and not the big feature updates. I have Win10 LTSC 2019 installed on my old HP computer and using a more recent Realtek HDA audio driver in the 8700s than R2.82 (v6.0.1.8186). also your ASUS P6T board is not supported by Win10 - ASUS did not test that board for compatibility with Win10 and did not provide updated drivers for it (your mobo is barely a decade old; time to get a new board that uses newer CPU & RAM chips). and if you need recent Realtek HDA (nonUAD) drivers, you can find some at this github page. |

Maybe lol. I feel like the HDD issues were being caused by my over-volting of the hardware components for my overclock. I must have set them slightly too high because it has stopped since I lowered them a smidge. In any case I'm finally ditching the 10 year old CPU & Motherboard and am in the process of acquiring a ASUS ROG VIII Hero /w Wi-Fi motherboard and AMD Ryzen 3700X CPU, I already have the motherboard and have submitted a form to Noctua for a free AM4 compatibility kit so that I can hopefully keep using my Noctua DH14 cooler that I bought in 2013. No messing with voltages or removing of the overclock fully fixes the stability issues which is why I've left the overclock in operation for a year or so. So the weird ass issues should theoretically stop being an issue, on the other hand they'll more likely be replaced with all new weird ass issues. Upon reflection of several months of owning a 3700x, you're better off with a 3600 or a 3900x. The 37/3800x only exist simply to match against Intel 8 core products. Amd doesn't need the number of skus to compete against Intel. Maybe for zen 3 they'll tighten up that product stack. |

you get a bit more thermal headroom, and well, is 4 more threads worth 200 cdn dollars?(250vs450 cdn) the nnnnx products are just market segmentation for profiteering. the 3700x and 3800x are even identical processors with minimal differences(same basic difference between the 3600 and the 3600x), and a 100 cdn markup(450/550). If you are just gaming then the 3600 is the best value. If you need an upgrade for work, then you might as well stretch the extra 150 and get a 3900x. if the line up was just parts without x suffixes Zen 2 is still beating intel bloody. |

Posted by funkyass In the US ATM it’s 3600 for 195 USD and 3700x for 300 USD, so the price ratio is much better. If it’s like that in AUD I think franpa’s choice is probably ideal. |

Nothing specifically, just gaming in general and not falling too far behind in basic technology (PCI-E, SATA, NVMe & USB). The CPU has been holding me back a fair bit for the last 4~ years, many games that should easily hit 60FPS with a Geforce 1070Ti don't. My most recent upgrade from a Geforce 760 to a Geforce 1070Ti has made it rather obvious that the CPU is holding me back as the performance uplift was pretty small in a lot of demanding games (previous GPU upgrades all resulted in notable performance uplifts). The end of last year was the first time I ever got an enthusiast tier graphics card (that didn't suck ass, looking at you Single Slot 8800GT) and this year will be the first time I've ever gotten an enthusiast tier CPU (would you consider a bottom of the range Intel i7 920 CPU enthusiast?). I still can't play The Witcher 3 at a satisfactory FPS & visual fidelity (at 1920x1080) for example, and that came out in 2015!
