I'll do you one better: I made it an admin-editable setting.

Hey, for the Hermes theme, would it be possible to set the background to be darker? I like Hermes as a theme but apparently the brighter background on here results in not enough contrast for my eyes. For reference, the background colour from the old board appears to be #14171f.

Alternatively, maybe bumping up the brightness of the font could work.

None of this makes any sense.

The background on the Hermes theme is actually supposed to be an image -- #1f222a url(images/body.gif) -- but I haven't bothered to rip any of the images yet.

I still want a dark text over light background theme.

I've tested all the themes currently listed, and so far I've settled with Old Metal, which offers a decent contrast for this somewhat busted-up LCD panel on my Dell (very readable as long as the CCFL lamp has been given enough time to warm up). But one of the things I still miss from the original bBoard is the default theme (IIRC it was called "Serenity").

So... pretty please? I get you nerds love your DOS console-esque dark themes, but I stopped using CRT displays for computing purposes years ago!

I'd also love to see the Hermes theme corrected.

Hermes fans may need to do the cache thing but the background's in.

I actually tried out the Win3.1 theme for a while, but...

    - most posts wind up displayed in black on dark grey (#808080), which is... not great, contrast wise.
    - The style for buttons draws the dark-grey bottom-right shading, but not the white top-left shading, and that kind of historical inaccuracy is a deal-breaker. Kawa, you should use the `border-image` CSS property to make a proper Win3.1 button.

I'm tempted to try and make my own theme based on (say) the Solarized Light palette, but looking at the existing themes all the classes are stuff like ".cell0, .cell1, .cell2", and I don't think I want to understand markup like that.

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

Post background changed, buttons given explicit border colors instead of trusting the browser to know what a silver outset border should look like.

Hey, Kawa, I think your profile is glitched. Your title changes every time I look at it. YOU MIGHT BE GETTING HACKED!11

No, that's on purpose. I have an old plugin from an earlier board that does this crap for me. As far as the profile editor is concerned my title is "Supposed to be asleep".

Yes. Yes he did. He's made it abundantly clear he's significantly transformed this installation of AcmlmBoard :)

Nicholas Steel would be a great superhero secret identity. Or a supervillain identity, for that matter.

How do I jump to the "most recent unread post" of a thread, as opposed to "most recent post"? I couldn't find a way from within https://helmet.kafuka.org/bboard/lastposts.php .

I have no idea where to even start with that 😸

Edit: okay so that was a lie in practice. You can click the icon on the left to go the first unread post, and if there's a whole other page after that it'll consider the last post on this page the one you last read.
