I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to card you. You really can't say "just" as if something is simple or straightforward and then include more than one TLA. The more of those you use, the less simple and straightforward it gets. |

At least it's just the default. I recall having a playlist full of tracker songs and showing the file name and internal name for just that playlist, instead of artist, track #, and album. Is foobar still that nice or did they fuck it up? |

Posted by sureanemI don't think you got my point there. You can reasonably expect the same or at the very least effectively the same behavior, but to expect bit-identical output from a higher language (it's all relative, C is pretty low) is quite frankly madness in my eyes. |

That's the thing: you can't be sure you didn't miss some obscure edge cases. With a disassembly you can pretty much guarantee will result in a bit-identical end product, assembly and raw machine code being what they are. You rebuild the C code in any way, be it automated decompilation or intense manual labor, you're not gonna get a bit-identical compile, debug information or not. You can only guarantee it's bit-identical if you use the original source code and compiler. In fact, the very presence of that debug information would invalidate the result even then. |

Fun fact: there was an attempt by me, years back, to write yet another AcmlmBoard. From scratch, like ABXD, but completely different. It had a separate mobile mode with large buttons, and I believe it was visually somewhat inspired by Disgust. And its name was |

So you're saying there should be an edit button visible on all posts when logged out, even though when you're logged in you only get edit links on your own posts (assuming you're not staff), even though no other board I know of does this? |
