And apparently Western Digital is the only one to put SMR drives in a NAS oriented product line.

Firefox 77 makes the new Mega Address Bar compulsory, and it brings with it an annoying enlargement of the Address Bar whenever it is in focus. I've been slowly building up a collection of tweaks I enjoy using and started sharing them recently on Mozzilazine here http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=3058484&p=14854838#p14854838 (includes how to disable the enlarging of the Address Bar).

2 new exploits for Intel CPU's. One of them defeats SGX and the othre proves disabling hyperthreading doesn't improve security as much as people thought.

Considering how much America has already spent on relief packages etc. it wouldn't surprise me if there's a small part of Trump that doesn't want to keep signing multi-trillion dollar packages. he might not want to be the PM that sinks the country in to 30 trillion dollars of additional debt or whatever it'd have ended up at if they kept on with the relief packages.

If they wanted to distance themselves from Intel, wouldn't it be far simpler to just go with AMD?

So it seems Sony is having a bad day, peoples transaction histories and game purchases are disappearing from Sony Servers if the error messages people are getting is accurate. Isn't an all-digital system just a grand idea? /s

And given that the HDDs have a maximum transfer capacity of 120 MB/s or so, there is no need for a faster port. A 20TB drive would take two full days to fill up with constant writing. Heck, even a 100GB game would take at least 15 minutes to read from the drive.
Hum, more like around 200MB/s unless you're going for a budget/5400RPM drive.

Hopefully they don't assign Zenimax/Bethesda staff to QA for Microsoft Windows. We'd prolly get a significant increase in the number of problems with Windows.

I'm currently 27 hours into Horizon Zero Dawn. The graphics are amazing, but my GTX 970 gets only 30-40 fps at reduced settings. Hope to get a RTX 3070 or 3080 soon; or the AMD equivalent if they have raytracing and the drivers are good.

Multiple AIB's have documents leaked that indicate a 20GB edition of the 3080 will exist and TechPowerUp has seemingly gotten a leaked BIOS image from one of the cards (they'll post an article about it "soonish"), presumably it is being delayed to launch shortly after AMD's launch to undermine them.

Horizon Zero Dawn is an amazing game, enjoy it! It looks pretty awesome on a PS4 Pro with a HDR TV.

But I think I'll complete Frozen Wilds first since apparently the main story ending prevents playing further.

The game will warn you once you reach that point (in case you're just going off of what other people say).

The next console generation has just arrived, COVID or not!

First on iFixit's trusty dismantling table: the neXtcube Xbox Sex

Highlights:

- Overkill is the name of the game. The cooling game, that is! Looks like both Sony and MS are playing it safe to prevent another wave of overheating-related RMAs.
- Look at that bigass 130mm single fan! (made by Delta, which is "God-tier" on the PSU enthusiast arena) It's also surprisingly serviceable - you just have to void your warranty to do so. BOO!

And yet I've seen people anecdotally claim they've seen a message that their Xbox Series/PS 5 console needs to be turned off for a while to cool. So either they effed something up, those people installed their consoles in a sealed container for some stupid reason or the manufacturers need to mess with fan profiles in the firmware.
