I was just browsing through the latest issue of PC Zone (a uk-based games magazine) and spotted a screenshot of FQ! The magazine has an article on the 50 most controversial games ever and FQ appears at number 40 in the list. For anyone interested, here's what was written - 40:F**KQUEST, 1998 PC Moving, uplifting and quite brilliant, F**kquest has been sadly erased from the roll-call of point-n-click legends. A marvellous parody of Sierra's SpaceQuest adventures, playing F**kQuest was a powerfully erotic experience. An enchanting tale of a troubled man and his wayward penis putting aside their differences and looking for some slutty pixels to make love to, they truly don't make 'em like this anymore. Thank f**k. n1 Rich :) |

;D Good going Rich! Be sure to send them a mail when FQ2's finished! |

Wow! That's fantastic! I got my game in a magazine. They seem to give it such a good review when it really is quite a crappy game. I hope FQ2 gets as much popularity some day. It is also a crappy game, but I believe that it's 100 times better than the first. I've been working on it quite diligently the last three weeks. I hope I finish it during this wave of enthusiasm before it fizzles out. Anyone know where I can a copy of this PC Zone magazine here in the States? |

I found a CD of pirated games down in Mexico December 2002. It was really crappy, a CD with a magazine sized piece of cardboard as the back, shrinkwrapped. It had FQ on it. I scanned it and planned to put the pictures on my AGI & SCI site along with and article, but never bothered getting around to it ^_^. Heh, I pretty much never update that site anymore, too busy coding, which is more beneficial to everyone anyway :). It will be getting good updates soon though, as I will be having at least one person jumping on board to update it with (for :)) me. Sorry your stuff is being sold for profit Rich, but it was only about $5 with a couple dozen other games, so you're not losing much ;) And anyway, 90% of the games sold in Mexico are pirates, so it's not so bad, heh. I had a hard time finding non-CDR Playstation games, a really hard time. |
Rich | That's the oddest thing, Brian. I don't know how that game got around so much. The only time I ever announced it was on this forum (or at least the equivalent forum back in 1998). It does kind of suck that it's on a CD that was sold for money, but I certainly don't mind it getting around for free. That was the idea. Giving a little back for all I've taken, etc. Hopefully, people will see with FQ2 that I've actually put a good amount of time into the game. |
Eero R | So Mexico is like Russia about pirate software? Interesting. |
Rich |
I don't remember who it was, but a year or two back, someone sent me a copy of FQ1 translated into Russian. It was so trippy. I wonder how many languages FQ1 exists in now. So strange! btw, Stayed up till 4am last night working on FQ2. I got over a big hurdle that was keeping me back. It should be a lot more smooth sailing, at least for a little while. I can already foresee the next hump, but I'm not there yet. :) |

Maybe I should translate the game to Estonian, since it's so popular (atleast that's what it seems). What amazes me is that you got your game in a magazine. WHOA. Some people don't even get good 3D games into magazines ;D. Well, maybe because they're not porn ;D. Keep it up! -Oliver Rull |

Translate away. Yes, I too am mystified, and perhaps a little bit disconcerted. At the time, the game was just supposed to be a quick small bit of funniness, nothing special at all. It says too much about society that it would be in a magazine and not a good 3D game... because of the porn thing. |

Okay, I already asked this, but perhaps someone else will see this. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the UK PC Zone, this issue in particular. I'd really like to show it to my friends. My girlfriend is dying to see it. Also, FQ2 is getting closer to being done everyday. I've virtually down to the last sex scene. I have to animate a wedding but, I've already set it all up so it's no big deal. Soon, I will need some beta testers. |
Eero R | Me! Me! Me! :) |

I can scan in the page from the magazine for you. Or if you want, I can get you a copy of the magazine (I think its still on sale). Send me an email. |
Rich |
Hey Chad, what was the issue number? And I can't find your e-mail, but I would love to see a scan. Thanks a bunch! I really am excited. |

Oliver (not logged in) | I could be a beta tester ::) |
AGI1122 | Well you can spot the perverted people easily... volunteers. ;D ;) |
Eero R | Hehe, the first fanmade AGI game I played was FQ1. I even found this board while looking for FQ2... no, just kidding. :P |

Well, it's still going to be a couple weeks. I'm just finishing up the wedding scene as we speak... which means just have to do the final ... ahem... scene. And I want to add one scene earlier in the game which I was putting off till last. Wasn't sure exactly what to do with it. Then, I have to clean up the whole thing, adding/removing a few elements. Then I can have the beta-testers. I am going to have a few guidelines, but I'll get into that later. Then, before the actual release, I need to repackage the game and redesign my webpage a little bit. All in all, expect the final game in a later over a month. If you want to start beta-testing soon, you can e-mail me and I will go over my guidelines. My primary guideline is that I would rather you be 18 or over, but if you're not, at least promise that you can test the game in a private place that parents and/or other people won't walk in. The other important guideline is that you not give out copies of the beta to anyone, and delete it yourself when you're done. It's not that I mind the game getting out there... I want it to get out there. I just don't want unfinished beta copies floating out there. I would take that as a personal offense above all things. Anyway, those are the main ones. I'm so excited! |

Rich wrote: Err... did you just give a big part of the plot away? |
Eero R | Sure I'm 18... Like you could prove my age... Age quiz? :P Anyway, no one ever comes to my room without asking first. And I've deleted my own games, why should I keep FQ2 Beta? |
Oliver |
So anyway, am I a beta tester? If yes then let me know (oliver182@hot.ee) when can i start ;D |

I said I was 13... :P Oh, and when you have sent me the game, please send me a PM (the address I gave here is my address for spam and stuff like this, so I don't check it so often). |
