Any tips to use mirror effect like King's quest 4? Thanks in advance Robin Gravel |

perhaps you could use a view that had both the reflection and ego drawn in, and send the ego to that view whenever you walk into a certain area... thats just a guess...there is prolly an easier and better way. doan |
Brian_Provinciano | It would be very simple. All you'd need to do, for example, is show the same view twice. If ego is left, draw the mirror Actor right, if right, draw left, if up, draw down, if down, draw up. Then, simply set a priority region around the mirror so the mirrored actor is only visible within the mirror region. |

I'll try it tomorrow. Gone to bed by now. Robin Gravel |

Brian Provinciano wrote: That part is actually wrong, in a mirror both the character and reflection in the left/right views would be the same. The up down part was right though eg. if you walk side on passed the mirror facing left, the reflection would be facing left too. but walking towards, you would see the characters back, and the reflections front. You might also want to change the frame order for the reflection. Eg. so if right foot is forward, the mirror has left foot forward. (I'm no SCI expert so I'm not sure if it's possible, they got it wrong in LSL3) just thought I'd point that out ~Tim |
Brian_Provinciano | yeah, left would be left, my mistake. However, since SCI games use the game cel for the left and right (just mirrored), the left foot, right foot thing wouldn't be an issue unless you used separate loops. |

Actually, you were both right. If the mirror is on the left or right wall, left and right would be reversed, and up and down would remain the same. If the mirror is on the back wall, then left and right remain the same while up and down are reversed. Mokalus of Borg PS - A real challenge would be to make a mirror on another angle. PPS - Probably too much of a challenge, IMO. |
