Expanding on the idea in the Drink all day, Play all night thread. I would like to see if it would be feasible to put together some kind of in-game calender, in an attempt to add more to the passage of time. So people can be all like wuuuud? I spent sexhours harvesting [InsignificantVariable(Insert humorous substance here)], and collecting [Blank]?!

It would feature (fictitious) days of the week, TESesque months IE: Frost Fall, Last Seed (heh, seed), years (ala the Chinese calender) that change every xTicks. A day (432,000ticks), A month (13,149,000ticks), A year (157,788,000ticks).

Weather: Would it be possible to setup some randomized weather anomalies, with some occurring more often than others during certain months/seasons (so ya can encounter tall, pale, fit n yeti during da winta).

Aaaand that's all for now, and yes I pull ideas outta mah ass as I go (I do use a very strong laxative for ideas such as these).

Poor bastard: "How much?" Lilith: "Twenty metric fuck tons of gold and I'm all yours, hawtstuff~" Poor bastard: "Uh miss, a fuckton isn't an actual unit of measurement." Lilith: "Bullshit, a metric fuckton is 1000 metric assloads. Which, if you actually fucking went to school, you'd know was equal to 32.5 Helluvalots."

It's funny that you mention "TESesque months". I was working on a custom calendar earlier that uses 30-day months using TES names. It just needs to be implemented.

Weather is technically possible -- biomes are determined from a rainfall and temperature map, and each board's most-significant biome is stored as a property of the board, so you can work back and have rainfall in the game.

Heh, we're on the same wave length then.

I hope weather doesn't prove to be too much of a coding challenge. I see a lot of potential in that area for content an the like, we could even do XXX-mas events!

You don't need weather to have a festive holiday.

Anyway, the new calendar is in, and I added a thing where (re)starting a game induces random timeskips.

Edit: added a Pile page on the calendar, and considering adding in-game holidays (even if only referred to by in-game books)

Admittedly you don't but for the proposes of immersion, it'll be cooler to see saint dick an his naughty lil helpers appear in the middle of a white board that used to be green a mouth before.

Still festive holidays are so a thing now, weather or no.

If you have any ideas for special days (holidays or otherwise), feel free to request an account on the Pile 'n shit so you can add 'em.

If you've been payin attention you'd know that I always have ideas, omae. I'll be requestin a prof on da pile as suggested 'n such.

Speaking of ideas (heyooo, I'm at it again)! Could places 'n towns get some labels 'o shit like dat?

A small space on da home/building (like some sorta sign 'o mailbox) describing it when you use the look command. Such as Tammi's Tavern (Bar, Pub or wuteva dafuq), Pam's playhouse (In the case of an actual whore house, G), Sheelah's smithy or simply stating that some randomized npc lives there (Big tit Betty and carpet cleaner Lucy's residence).

Obviously shops 'n da like are planed, but here's an idea of what most peeps are spect'n. A pawn shop 'o general sto, Weapon/Armor stos or Smithy, an Alchemy sto 'o Apothecary of some sorts (Cannabis, nuff said), da bakery (where my eternal nemesis cheese cake lies...waiting, tempting me knowing I'll slip up), A gym (Goes with the bakery, perhaps you could pull the whole thickness/tone thang from CoC), Clothing stores, Some sorta salon/barbershop, an all dat jazz. They don't even have to all be in one town/city, they could be scattered throughout Nox, hell there could even be a whole economy goin on if we're really talkin bout immersion.

Just what are the levels of techno'g in Nox?

Aaand what would any fantasy game be without magic? There are too many bloody ways it could be handled, if you're plannin on implementin somthin like dat at all. You could do the schoolz 'o magick from TES (Cursed/Pornarinum do) or CoC's black an white schoolz, segregatin magic 'n shit based on color an attitude but still leaving leeway for general use (Demons in CoC do use white magic.)

Dude, could you please dial down the street talk? You're growing more difficult to read than Terezi. Thank you.

Signs could be added to the template system no problem, really. Stores I'd prefer to tackle through the mission system.

As for technology levels, just think of the Monkey Island games. "Must be this shoddy, 17th century electrical wiring..."

I don't see much of a need to worry about magic for now, to be honest.
