Thread review
Sindri Myr Apologies for the late reply as I was engaging in heresy elsewhere. I downloaded the new build you posted and everything appears to be working now. Thank you for whatever is was you did exactly.
Kawa I'm uploading a slightly different build right now, as I type this, that has the fancy new error handler activated (I forgot to turn it back on for release). Try redownloading the game and, if you get the fancy new error handler, use that to help me help you.

Because I just started a new game and it worked fine.

Also this is about crashes when entering the dungeon and your problem occurs way earlier but let's not make a fuss about that ;)
Sindri Myr I am having the same issue on Windows Vista 64 Home Premium. I downloaded 0.1.14 from the downloads tab and I can create a character, but when I click the "Play" button, the game crashes. Windows simply tells me there was a problem and closes the game. I made sure I have .Net Framework 4 installed, but with my lack of computer knowledge I am at this point stuck.
Kawa They're all either NullReferenceExceptions, which could have any cause in the dungeon-creating process, or DLLNotFoundExceptions, which can have only one cause, which is not at all interesting here.

But that's all the crash reports can tell me.
Immmanius Ah. I was wondering where you were stashing the saved games.

So, I decided that I would try and find out where everything related to Noxico is and I found all the crash reports as well.

<a href="http://www.chaotic-reflections.net/.tempuploads/Noxico-CrashReports.7z">Crash Reports | 7z | ~4.5K</a>
Found location: c:\documents and settings\[USER NAME]\appdata\local\microsoft\windows\wer\[TYPE]_[EXECUTABLE]_[UUID(?) (For anyone else that may want to provide crash reports, I believe it to be MS's style, but maybe you can use it.)

And, if you still want it: <a href="http://www.chaotic-reflections.net/.tempuploads/Noxico-Saves.7z">Save Games | 7z | 4.05M</a>
Kawa Hmmyeahokay that is not at all complete. You see, there is another way to run it. Portable mode. The lack of a file named "portable" in this archive, and equal lack of a Saves or even Screenshots directory, tels me that this is not a complete dump. In other words, I'm missing %appdata%\..\..\Saved Games\Noxico.

If I were to run any of these three files right now, they'd use my savegames. Which won't work because the recently implemented "reuse a world you died in" feature changed the format a bit.
Immmanius If you'd like, i've 7z'd my entire Noxico folder and dropped it on my webhost, that way you can see what i'm using in regards to your software specifically.

<a href="http://chaotic-reflections.net/.tempuploads/noxico.7z">Noxico.7z | 1.91MB</a>

Not sure how much good it'll do, but there it is.

I just run it right from the folder just like that. Not sure there's any other way to run it... but, assume nothing.
Kawa I too use Home Premium 64-bit, and I find it funny how you seem to get to the character creation screen at all. Here, let me copy-paste from the tumblr.
I tried to reproduce what might’ve been the issue. Unpacked the file I linked (which only contains a single exe file), started it up. It worked. So I activated portable mode by putting an empty file named “portable” in the same directory, cutting that copy off from my usual data.

It crashed.

I recieved an INI file during the crash, in which I disabled audio. Since the FMOD library DLL was missing, I thought that might be it.

Block drawing was a little off, but it ran.

Put the correct FMOD library DLL in the directory, along with the music pack, re-enabled sound in the INI file, and it ran.

You might want to retrace those steps. If you skip portability mode, you’ll find noxico.ini in %APPDATA% on Windows, or ~/.config in Linux.
So yeah, funny how it fails in yet another way for you.
Immmanius I'm using windows 7 64 (home premium and ultimate)

the 64bit and 32bit 0.1.8 builds both seem to work, with the exception of crashing upon generating a dungeon. I have only recently (30 minutes ago or so) discovered your game, so I have not had much time playing it yet.

The build you have linked in the above post (0.1.9-32preview) crashes after creating a character. It seems that it does not matter which options are used for creation, but i haven't even tried to get through the possible permutations. Default (Human, Male, Blond, Dark, Sienna, charismatic) crashes as do all of the races.

If there is anything that you would like (including a different operating system) let me know and I can most likely accommodate for testing purposes. I have some professional experience in a software Q/A environment, so feel free to make use of it.
Kawa What about this build? For best test results, use a new world.

I'll remove the file up there when the next official build is released -- it's only there because it's stupid to assume everybody can use the source code.
Deleted user the game crashes every time i enter a dungeon ">"
i am using 32 bit version windows 7
