There's a playing time that increases by... let me look it up... five seconds per tick. There's no day and night cycle yet, though things are planned.

For example, you might notice if you check the source code that each bed in a village is named after its owner. This is supposed to make villagers path onto their beds and set a token, which a high-priority scene can then detect, allowing (for example) Chat to fail.

Different encounters during the day and night aren't especially difficult per se -- the trouble is in that wilderness and dungeon encounters are as persistent as townsfolk. That means that if you spawn a diurnal creature, let it live until after nightfall, and then return, it'll still be there, and there's only <var>n</var> random encounter creatures per board. That is, if the limit for a board is 10, and there's less than ten creatures (not counting the player) when it's loaded, new creatures are spawned until there's ten of them, so the nocturnal creatures won't spawn until 1) the diurnal creature is slain 2) the player lets 1000 ticks pass by while far away from that board, which causes the board to be saved and unloaded 3) the player then returns so the board is loaded from file and the encounter pool is refilled.

1000 ticks = 5000 seconds of in-game time ≅ 83 minutes, or almost one and a half hour.

Personally I'd rather tackle high-priority scenes. I think I know how to do it, too, keeping certain scenes at the top of the DOM while still letting MIX put expansions on top. So it's priority > expansions > the rest.

Skills are arbitrary.

Any weapon can have any value for its skill token, so a regular hammer, the Wrinklefucker™, and the Warhammer of Zillyhoo™ would share the same "skill: warhammer" token, whereas a rifle and Ahab's Crosshairs™ would have a "skill: large_firearm" token. They're practiced by successfully attacking.

Defensive items like shields could be practiced in the same way, but that's not implemented yet.

Any, and I do mean any other skill is used and practiced through scenes. For example, TDM's "eat out a naga" scene has a skillcheck on cunnilingus, inserts the appropriate text to reflect said skill's level, then calls <tt>IncreaseSkill("cunnilingus")</tt>. Any nonsexual skill would still be used in scenes, such as "Sweet Talking".

I'm not sure how to handle the "Swimming" skill yet.

Day and night is now a thing, and I'm considering leveraging the scene system to sometimes trigger when sleeping.

Sleeping? Yes. In the daytime, you can rest until healed if your HP is lower than max, but from one hour before sundown onwards, you can sleep until morning no matter your HP. In both cases you fully heal.

//var dream = some Character we quickly roll up with an empty token tree just for title bar purposes
SceneSystem.Engage(player.Character, dream, "(dream)");
//leave the rest to filters.

It's funny that you mention "TESesque months". I was working on a custom calendar earlier that uses 30-day months using TES names. It just needs to be implemented.

Weather is technically possible -- biomes are determined from a rainfall and temperature map, and each board's most-significant biome is stored as a property of the board, so you can work back and have rainfall in the game.

Someone suggested this joke I don't know how long ago:

For anyone posting mockups in this thread that isn't me, you get bonus points for being very convincing.

You don't need weather to have a festive holiday.

Anyway, the new calendar is in, and I added a thing where (re)starting a game induces random timeskips.

Edit: added a Pile page on the calendar, and considering adding in-game holidays (even if only referred to by in-game books)

You seem to have missed the point of the thread, though I suppose I could've been more specific on what the images are supposed to be mockups of?

If you have any ideas for special days (holidays or otherwise), feel free to request an account on the Pile 'n shit so you can add 'em.

Dude, could you please dial down the street talk? You're growing more difficult to read than Terezi. Thank you.

Signs could be added to the template system no problem, really. Stores I'd prefer to tackle through the mission system.

As for technology levels, just think of the Monkey Island games. "Must be this shoddy, 17th century electrical wiring..."

I don't see much of a need to worry about magic for now, to be honest.

I'd say Chel would be bisexual but leaning towards heterosexuality, considering her (futile) goal of having kids. The only obvious way she's not that sharp is in her inability to recognize her infertility.

As shown by this promo pic, she'd consider the Demon World an interesting place. I'd link to the Tumblr copy, but they're on scheduled downtime at the moment.

<small>#come on it'll be fun #i hear they make a wicked cheezburger there</small>

Posted by the main pageHundreds of years ago, some dude tried to summon a succubus. He ended up opening a portal to the demon realm and caused a bit of an invasion to occur. There was a war or something and the portal was more or less closed. Not quite, but at least an entire invasion force couldn't pop out all of a sudden so things were... managable. For a good while, nobody knew how to properly close the portal, and now that it has been discovered, nobody can get close enough to actually do so.

The demons secretly uplifted some animal species in another region. The resulting humanoids slowly lost their demonic taint and integrated into human civilization over the centuries.
Lubdou is full of crap and creampuffs. But at least the creampuffs are tasty.

No vampires please. At least, I'm not planning to implement all they involve. Maybe much later.

Enjoy your break.

You're posting in exactly the right place. Now, let's see what hasn't been claimed yet. At this time, the highest priority would be cubi or horses (specifically little ponies but that doesn't matter much).

Read the wiki, look at some earlier works... and stake your claim, basically.

Just reply with whatever questions you might still have, and which topic you'd like to cover.

Also, focus is mostly on sex scenes right now, but plain old dialogue is also important to have. If you decide to tackle dialogue, feel free to butt in on another writer's claim and cover that aspect -- that is, feel free to write slime or naga dialogue.

I'll repeat it once more just in case, if you don't feel like you can code well, don't mind the filters and grammar placeholders and such. The only thing that really matters is that if a given scene has certain limitations, or any time a scene can go one way or the other, that should be annotated. I have to process your work anyway, so I can infer a couple filters and where to put page breaks myself.

Welcome aboard, and good luck.

There is such a list actually. It's in the first thread I made on Fen's forum about this game, before Guest revived all the interest a little over a month later. Vore's totally on it.

I like the second idea in general, though. Definately something to consider.

A googledoc is kinda the way it's popularly done, it seems.

Personally, I'd like pony scenes, btw.

Meh. More like a new PC can find the remains of the old one and get all those items back.

• Bestiality, as in having sex with nonsapient animals. Dog-morphs are okay, actual dogs are not.
• Loli or shota.
• Vampires. They're pretty much ruined, and they would require some sort of spreading infection.
• Werewolves and other sorts of lycanthropes, also because infection.
• Zombies and other such undead.
• Vore, be it soft or hard, mostly out of personal preference.
• Death by sex, or sex with the dead.

Feel free to use this thread to try and talk me out of it.
