They're all either NullReferenceExceptions, which could have any cause in the dungeon-creating process, or DLLNotFoundExceptions, which can have only one cause, which is not at all interesting here. But that's all the crash reports can tell me. I don't just program Noxico... |

I'll just limit myself to your edit. Characters are based on predefined molds, if you will, so they all start mostly on the "ends of the graph". The player (and NPCs if I get something in to allow them to use TF items) can then more or less freely slide across that graph. One of the scene filters uses the Levenshtein distance between the character in question and the specified mold to determine if that scene should apply, so you can write specifically for, say, Felinoids. But you can also filter on the presence and absence of certain parts -- check The Pile for a bit more on that -- so you can also write a scene (or part of it) specifically for when the character has, say, a tail. Or maybe a snake tail without bothering with the rest of the Naga mold. Since the few TF items in the list aren't spawnable yet, and everybody is still "fresh from the mold", so to speak, the Look descriptions may indeed seem to go by "race more than anything". It doesn't. My experiments with debug-given pony potion prove it. There's an achievement planned for immobilizing yourself, btw. Having a standard list of statistic tiers might be an idea -- sorta like how the Corruption stat in Corruption of Champions ranges from 0 to 100, but the text considers you pure, tainted, etc? The DLL files should not need to be registered. They are either .Net Assemblies or merely flat collections of function calls (that'd be fmod) that don't need registration. I'm going to whip up a build that can report roughly where it breaks. I don't just program Noxico... |

Old savegames The format for world saves tends to change between versions. The game may expect to find some information that simply isn't there, and crash. Remove the savegame folder to fix this. In Windows Vista and 7, the default location is C:\Users\Your Name\Saved Games\Noxico. In older versions of Windows, it's C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Appdata\Roaming\Noxico\Saves. In *nix systems, it's ~/.config/Noxico/Saves. I have identified the problem and am fixing it now. Okay. world generation should be fine now. It was a leftover from when I switched to MIX files. Redownload 0.1.12 from the usual place to confirm that it works. I don't just program Noxico... |

I've traced the error to one spot where a NullReferenceException could occur. Achievements.Setup(): if (!IniFile.GetBool("profile", "useonline", true) || !Profile.IsConnected()) But if AskForOnline is set, Profile.IsConnected will then try to ask for permission through a callback function that was never set. Instead, this obvious fix lets us do the check silently: if (!IniFile.GetBool("profile", "useonline", true) || !System.Net.NetworkInformation.NetworkInterface.GetIsNetworkAvailable()) A new build is being pushed out now. That's an interesting exception to get. Testing this myself... Can't reproduce. I can guess you must've already had a profile, since the latest download would ask to create one before asking permission to go online, and you didn't say anything about that first step. If so, perhaps your profile is corrupted somehow? It's practically impossible to confirm without actually having a copy of your profile. In Windows Vista/7, it's in C:\Users\noego\Appdata\Local\Kafuka. If not, I really have no idea. Open the INI file to disable profiles entirely and you should be able to at least play the game. I don't just program Noxico... |

Filters need more explanation on the wiki. The first example, "relation", checks the bottom's shipping grid for an entry about the top. For example, <tt>value="acquaintance"</tt> would match if the top (usually the player) is an acquaintance of the bottom. "None" is a special case in that it matches a missing shipping entry. Relationships have no "at least". The second filter you specified matches if the player (see above) has a Charisma stat of at least 50. Greater Than or Equal, >=. Therefore, when combined, the scene would be available if the player is a total stranger to the character they speak to, and has a charisma of at least 50. Ah, I was so wrapped up in correcting the filter examples that I forgot the other part: in the latest builds, those with MIX files, you can extend scene files externally. External files go in a \data folder, in the same directory as the game executable. XML Extensions trigger when the file path is \data\something_scenesDlg.xml or \data\something\scenesDlg.xml (assuming the file to extend is scenesDlg.xml). A file with \data\scenesDlg.xml as its path would replace the one in the MIX file so watch out. For fun, get a PNG file that is 80 by 50 pixels in size and save it as \data\title.png. Only XML files can be extended, but replacements are possible for anything in a MIX file. I don't just program Noxico... |

That is correct. For sex scenes, the player gets to top unless it's rape by defeat. For dialogues, the player is (for now) always the top. Incidentally, if the player is the bottom (reciever? catcher? uke?) the game will pick an action at random, unless a certain flag is set by a scene script. This technically goes for both sex and dialogue, but since the player always tops in dialogue... I don't just program Noxico... |
