Sierra AGI games archive

Shish Hey men!!!
I have an exelent idea!!!
I can register domain in Russian
www.narod.ru zone. It isn't moderated
for copyrights...
So i can post login and password here...
You all can put your Sierra game there!

DO YOU LIKE THIS IDEA???
AGI1122 I have already started an AGI game archive and a SCI game archive.

http://www.agigames.com/games/

http://www.agigames.com/scigames/

People can upload AGI and SCI games to there for others to download.
Shish I mean Sierra games!
Gold rush, LSL, manhunter and others...
Are they on your site???
AGI1122 Well no, because nobody has uploaded them. ;)

I have only upload 1 of the games that are up there now V which I am a developer of. It is up to everyone else to upload the games.
Shish But if someone upload it
this will be illegal !!!
Some IDSA members can find them on you site...
But we (i mean russian) have thousands of
warez-game stuff on narod.ru...

That's all i have to say about it...

I knew you wanted to create the most complete archive of AGI games out there, but I thought it was just fanmade stuff you wanted.. didn't you say (I don't remember if it was here or on your own board) that you didn't want Sierra games because of the copyright issue?
AGI1122 Well I am trying decide whether or not to put them up. There is some pluses and some negatives. One of the pluses is that people who don't have them can try them, especially since some are hard to find or not able to find at all. Another one would be that I would start getting a pretty complete AGI game archive up. Then the down sides, it is illegal and the idsa would probably come after me and have me take them down. But then again there will be fan made games and sierra's games on one page so they might not notice it.

I am on an impass of what to do, let them be uploaded or not... what do you guys think?
Shish So let's do original agi archive!
IDSA members never find them there!
It will be easy to use! Like any FTP
server!

PS
I have all AGI games exept gold rush!
That's why i need this archive!
AGI1122 I think I have decided against letting them be uploaded to my site. I would have a guilty frame of mind and not be at peace with that. You may do as you like with that address and the ftp, since it isn't up to me or anyone else what you do.
CESS.tk Maybe you could call the games "Fan-made Kings Quest" and "Fan-made Manhunter" and such, and then they probably wouldn't notice, because all the other games on the site are fan-made as well.
AGI1122 They might not know, but I would feel guilty about it.
CESS.tk Ok, I understand. It's your choice really and I respect that.
Joel I think labeling the games "Fan-made King's Quest" or whatever would be a bad idea. If Sierra did somehow find out about it, then that would most certainly be viewed as representing "their" copyrighted work as the work of someone else.
Robin_Gravel Why not. After all, space quest: the lost chapter was released one year ago and Vonster D Monster's site still works. I shall make a king's quest game some day. Robin Gravel
AGI1122 That isn't what he meant Robin. He was saying he should rename the game from King's Quest to fanmade King's Quest to fool the IDSA.
Joel To make sure this is completely clear: I'm not saying that I don't think that fans should make new Space Quest or King's Quest games. I'm saying that renaming "King's Quest I: Quest For the Crown" to "Fan-made King's Quest", for example, would be asking for trouble, probably even more so than just providing the game under its original name.
Shish It's much easier to make FTP!
All from this community can have login
and password. All can upload games from their
own collections...
IDSA has nothing with narod.ru!
Nobody will close this FTP!
Robin_Gravel Oops. Sorry folks. Robin Gravel

You're right. Should have given that some more thought. Sorry.
Rich Actually, Nick is right. Even by mentioning this FTP site with illegal copies of Sierra's games here on this messageboard, the IDSA bastards can somehow find out about it and still manage to shut it down. If they see it enough, they'll shut down the messageboard too. Argh. It's unfair that it is illegal, but it is. I still get a ticket for going 85 mph, even though I think the speed limits are set way to fu(king low. It's just the way it is.
