The PBC2 also doesn't take card-based games. Small loss, I know.

Would it be technically possible (though probably not worth it) with a Mark III adapter plus SG-1000/SC-3000 Card Catcher? (I can't remember if SMS cards used the same pinout as SG/SC cards)
(especially not worth it since I think all of the western card games got a cart release at least in PAL regions)

I think so. If I'm not mistaken, the Card Catcher is a pure pinout device.

True story, though: the only card game I've ever had access to is F-16 Fighting Falcon. The one and only SMS game that doesn't work in a Genesis(due to using the original 9918 modes once you're past the title screen)

Necroing this thread because I have a rare console, as far as I can tell.According to my Lion King cart's debug page, it's a 2/1/1. Serial number is UN12275542.Is there anything more helpful that I can do or information I can provide that would be useful?Edit:Opened her up after getting appropriate 3.5mm security bit.Album of the board here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/v262gL7FfPhkLdiW8Board, corner labelCode:© 1990 NintendoSHVC-CPU-01CPUCode:S-CPU  A5A22-021JD 7UPPU1Code:S-PPU15C77-011JV 94PPU2Code:S-PPU25C78-011JU 89IDs on the chips confirm a 2/1/1 and match the IDs in this post, in particular the "rarely mentioned in internet" first line of the ppu2 versions.
