No, I asked my landlord about it (he lived in this house for years before he rented it), he said it was a stain that's been there since long before he lived here. It was probably the same oily crap that was all over the original bench surface. I worried about the same thing, but there aren't any water pipes on that side of the basement.

Finally managed to get a ROM burned and mounted to the daughterboard and the absolutely impossible happened... it booted on the first try. This is certainly not the first MMX3 repro ever made, but I will eat my gorram hat if it isn't the sexiest.

Next up, I need to get my cart reader back up and running, then I can try to program the ROM through the cart edge. Once I prove that works, it'll be ready to ship off to byuu.

I didn't even realize it was there until I had already uploaded the photos. At that point I was too lazy to do anything except make the joke.
