I can barely SEE them, man.

>there are people who genuinely revere C in a toxically masculine way.

I know a person (ax6) on Discord (pret server) who thinks "safe languages just create an illusion of safety, since CPUs are unsafe", "semantic type systems don't reflect what the actual hardware is doing", and "if you're making a mistake on C, it's because you're not a good enough programmer".

Those all seem like things that should fall under "if you aren't using assembly, you aren't really programming."

I think the verification is related to byuu's redump project. He's found errors in no-intro, and there's no way to tell who dumped the erroneous games nor what other games they dumped, so does not consider them a trusted source.

If it isn't dumped by byuu, it isn't verified.

Also, Notepad was updated end of last year to handle incomplete line-endings and I believe it respects existing byte-order mark status too.

Ah. Thought both changes came at the same time, but I was apparently mistaken.

And yeah, I know that it isn't every Notepad. I did note it was a recent change.
But surely we can apply the same attitude towards "deprecated software" that the Linux community does in my experience. It doesn't exist, it never existed, and there is no excuse to use it.

Also, I wouldn't call the byte-order mark a fix. It is a change, but the old behavior wasn't WRONG.
I'm not particularly hardline about it, though.

...

I am about newlines. I genuinely believe that Notepad's previous behavior was correct, neither CR nor LF on their own constitute a valid newline, and Notepad was changed to accept and generate corrupt text files.
The Unix way is fundamentally incorrect here(as is the Macintosh way, if you were wondering why anyone cares about CR in isolation). This is not sarcasm or trolling.

DRAMA!!!!

I don't quite see the problem here? What is so wrong with bsnes-plus that there has to be drama?

Super Game Boy emulation in bsnes-plus works OK for me and the games I own, granted I should be able to recommend it to someone else.

Only fair, right?

It is a fork that has annoyed byuu for a long time, for various reasons(most notably pressing undo on low-level coprocessor emulation and ensuring people don't touch it for several years).

I didn't mean you were intentionally trying to start stuff, just that it has a history of starting stuff.

EDIT:

Think of it as "donor" carts of Doom and Yoshi's Island people used to use to make Reproductions of the Star Fox 2 betas.
Bootlegs, not reproductions. Can't make a reproduction of something that never actually existed.

Oh, I'm sorry I didn't know that actually.

I swear I don't want to start anything, I only recommended it based on the Super Game Boy emulation.
Also as a command line user it works really great too loading Super Game Boy games with bsnes-plus, I believe he fixed that some time ago.

I'm very little informed about these so called dramas, at the end of the day I use emulators to play my games and have some fun.
You're not starting anything, I was being silly.

True, but at the end of the day reproduction is just a "nicer" word for bootleg because that's what all reproduction copies really are.

But a bootleg of something that exists is also a reproduction. A bootleg of something that never did isn't.

Can they eliminate the sound of the cord rubbing against your clothes/objects?
Nope. The sound doesn't exist in the air, so their microphones can't pick it up.

A clothes pin, chip clip, or other clippy thing securing the wire to your shirt collar will greatly cut down on that. It prevents most wire disturbances below the clip from propagating past it, so they never reach your ears.

I think it is actually intended to keep the car's computer occupied so it doesn't stomp on the gas and steer the car into a concrete wall anymore.

Anti-Suicide for AI?
Well, the computers usually live, based on Tesla's rapid PR responses that use the computer telemetry to place all blame on the driver that can't defend themselves ever since their Tesla decided to step on the gas and steer into a wall. Seems like more anti-Skynet protocols.

The problem is actually that the cord IS fastened. The movements of the wire become movements of the earpieces, which disturb the air in the ear and create unwanted sounds. It is mostly a problem with in-ear phones, because their size and position makes them sensitive to small movements.

They ... DO fasten them with rubber.

A loosely-affixed cord would cause severe reliability issues due to the consequent loss of strain relief upon some very small solder joints.

There aren't, because the cord noise can't be picked up by the microphones that the noise-cancelling hardware uses to detect noise. It is generated by physical movement of the headphones themselves.

Fancy headphones, incidentally.

Also, american higher educatien costs have risen far faster than inflation. So the amount of debt you take on in student loans is highly burdensome. And since said loans are exempt from the debtors' financial relif options, if your degree does not result in the income you expected(spoilers: it doesn't because you were lied to), you're just fucked over for life.
